
On September 24, 2024, Marsa Maroc signed a delegated management agreement with Bénin Manutentions S.A for Terminals 1 and 5 in the Port of Cotonou, as a result of the award of this contract in July 2024, following an international selection process.
As part of this partnership, focused on operational excellence, Marsa Maroc will support Bénin Manutentions S.A in the start-up and management of port operations. Thanks to its expertise and its relationships with major international shipping companies, Marsa Maroc is committed to positioning Bénin Manutentions S.A as a reference operator, contributing to the development of logistics corridors in the region.
Marsa Maroc will ensure that the commissioning of the Terminals complies with deadlines and international standards, while undertaking several modernization projects in line with the Benin government’s vision. This partnership, which is part of the South-South cooperation strategy promoted by the High Royal Guidelines, aims to create value for the entire Benin port ecosystem.
With this agreement, Marsa Maroc reaffirms its ambition to internationalize, in line with its new “Marsa 2030” strategy. The start of operations at Terminal 1 at the port of Cotonou is scheduled for the beginning of October 2024.
