In October 2024, Hapag-Lloyd announced the separation of its combined “WWA/SAT” service, operating on the Europe – West Africa (WAF) – South America East (ECSA) – South Africa (SAF) routes. This decision marks a return to a configuration of two separate services, following the temporary merger of the two loops in May 2024.
From now on, two independent routes will cover these strategic connections:
- “WWA” service (Europe – West Africa):
- Calls: Anvers, Le Havre, Lisbonne, Tanger Med, Tema, Pointe Noire, Luanda, Anvers.
- Full rotation: 42 days.
- Service “SAT” Service (Southeastern America – South Africa): 4
- Calls: Durban, Luanda, Tema, Paranagua, Itajai, Santos, Durban.
- Full rotation: 35 days.
This reorganization is designed to optimize lead times and regional coverage by meeting the specific needs of commercial flows on these two distinct routes.
