On Friday, September 27, 2024, the Banque Centrale Populaire (BCP) and Tanger Med Port Authority (TMPA) signed the first contract for the use of the “Blockchain Payment Gateway” platform, which serves the port and logistics ecosystem.
The deal, which coincides with BCP’s participation in Tangier Logistics Days, marks the commitment of TMPA and BCP Group to the ongoing development of innovative and efficient payment solutions to serve operators in the port ecosystem. It has also announced the roll-out of the solution to target import, forwarding, and transport customers.
BCP’s “Blockchain Payment Gateway” has been successfully integrated into the Tanger Med Blockchain platform, developed for the benefit of the port and logistics ecosystem. The transactions that will be carried out in this manner are characterized by reinforced security, total transparency, and instantaneous payments. This ensures reliable monitoring of transactions, thus minimizing the risks of fraud and errors.
This initiative opens a new era both in the Moroccan port logistics landscape and in the national payment system.
