The 17th AVIP World Conference was held in Tangier, Morocco from 11th to 13th May 2022 and focused on the theme “Inspiring Blue Futures”, through which AVIP aimed to underscore the important role that port cities have to play for the future of societies, the economy, and the environment.
Tanger Med Port supported the organization of this event alongside several other stakeholders including the Development Company for the Conversion of the Port Zone of Tangier (SAPT) and Marina, the Moroccan Agency for Tourism Development (SMIT), the National Ports Agency (ANP), the Agency for the Promotion and Development of the North (APDN), and the Regional Investment Center of the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region (CRI-TTA).
During the third day of the conference, participants were invited to get a close look at Tanger Med Port Complex, located at the junction between Europe and Africa and the leading port in the Mediterranean region.
In addition, Mr. Tarik Dourasse, Central Director and Major Pilot of Tanger Med participated in the panel “Preparing Human Capital for the Blue Economy: New Jobs and Education” following which the audience was given a tour of the Port facilities.
